PALS is the supporting non profit of University of Central Florida Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (UCF-CARD), and currently helps more than 18,000 individuals with autism in Central Florida.

PALS Mission: Our goal is to provide support and assistance to optimize the potential of people with autism, dual sensory impairment, and related disabilities in conjunction with the UCF Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (UCF CARD). We serve individuals, their families, and the professionals that support them in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, Sumter, Volusia, and Lake counties at no charge through various evidence-based direct service programs, school support, family events, conferences, workshops and skill-building strategies.

UCF Center for Autism & Related Disabilities: PALS supports the UCF Center for Autism & Related Disabilities by creating opportunities for individuals in Central Florida and providing state-of-the-art inclusive programs to optimize positive outcomes as they learn, play, work, and live. UCF CARD strives to educate and empower individuals and families throughout the lifespan, and the Center provides training that enables professionals to deliver evidence-based treatments.

 

Why do we need your help? According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 out of 36 children born today is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD is now more common than childhood cancer and diabetes. It is likely that you know someone with autism, or know someone who has a family member with ASD. At the UCF Center for Autism, average Coordinator caseloads have increased by 85% in just 2 years. At today’s level of funding, there is less than $1.00 per day per UCF CARD constituent, and more cuts seem likely in the near future. Needless to say, your support is needed now more than ever.

How can you help? Become a corporate sponsor. By making a monetary donation, you help continue our mission. In return, your generosity will be recognized through a number of marketing materials including our website, showcasing your company as a concerned community member and good neighbor.
